BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Merrill Kohlhofer has had a lifelong passion for history, especially American history. Indeed, when his parents offered him a chance to have a tenth birthday party anywhere he wanted, Merrill without hesitation chose a living history museum. This passion has led him to be both a freelance storyteller and guide, researcher, and actor at The Stephen Phillips Trust House in Salem, Massachusetts.
Now Merrill Kohlhofer brings the people, events, issues and struggles of our past to vivid life in his storytelling. He will lead you, your students, visitors and guests into the vital connection with and understanding of our past, our present and each other.
Merrill Kohlhofer has performed at the House of the Seven Gables and the Peabody Essex Museums in Salem, MA, at the Salem Maritime Historic Site, at the Three Apples Storytelling Festival and the Sharing the Fire Storytelling Conference, and in schools, libraries, museums and festivals throughout New England. His CD The Promise includes four moving, dramatic stories of Gloucester Fishermen.
